To provide a hot press forming method and a hot press forming device capable of improving productivity in a hot press technique for press forming a heated steel plate.

In hot pressing of a steel plate 1, the steel plate 1 is press formed in dies (die 11 and punch 13), and then the steel plate 1 is cooled between the dies (between the die 11 and the punch 13) during which the temperature of the steel plate 1 is measured (during the bottom dead point is kept), and just after the temperature has reached a martensite transformation finish temperature, the dies (die 11 and punch 13) are released and the steel plate 1 is taken out.
