Title:
HOT-ROLLED STRAIGHT-WEB STEEL SHEET PILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007237293
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To prevent an interlock connection section in a hot-rolled straight-web steel sheet pile from being broken open.

The hot-rolled straight-web steel sheet pile is provided with a straight-web (12) delimited on each longitudinal side respectively by an interlock strip (14). The web (12) has a rolled-in taper (24) which is designed in such a manner that, in a tensile test of two samples chosen from the sheet piles which are connected by means of their interlock strips (14), the web (12) is plastically deformed in the taper section (24) before the interlock connection section may break down. The rolling of such a sheet pile can be performed by a little modified standard roller, so that a huge investment is unnecessary. The sheet pile is remarkable for its high plastic deformation capacity in a cell-like cofferdam.
