To perfectly and stably manufacture a hot rolling roll having both of seizure resistance and wear resistance by the centrifugal casting method, and to suppress breakage troubles in manufacturing and rolling, such as a lateral breakage and a longitudinal crack.
The outer layer of the hot rolling compound roll manufactured by centrifugal casting has the following chemical components in mass percentage; C of 3.0-4.0 %, Si of 0.8-2.5 %, Mn of 0.2-1.2 %, Ni of 3.0-5.0 %, Cr of 0.5-2.5 %, Mo of 0.1-3.0 %, V of 1.0-5.0 %, and the remainder of Fe and unavoidable impurities. The inner layer is composed of common cast iron containing C of 2.5-4.0 % or spherical graphite cast iron. In addition, the relation between the thickness (T) of the outer layer and the radius (R) of the inner layer satisfies the following expression 0.03 ≤ T/R ≤ 0.5 ---(1).
