Abstract:
PURPOSE: To shorten the length of hot rolling equipment and to make the equipment compact by coiling a rolled stock on and after a 2nd pass in a rough rolling stage and transporting the stock on the inlet side of a finishing mill which is arranged in parallel to the advancing direction.
CONSTITUTION: A cast slab 24 which is continuously casted is cut into the slab 24 of an optional length with a cutting machine 2 and, after passing the slab through a soaking pit 3, width mill 4 and rough descaling device 5, rough rolling is executed with a roughing mill 6. The strip on and after the 2nd pass is coiled with a coil box 8 and the coiled coil is transferred on the inlet side of a finishing mill group which is arranged in parallel to the advancing direction of the coil with a coil transporting machine 40. The front and rear end parts of the strip 26 which is delivered from a coil delivering device 9 is cut off with a cutting machine 7 and the strip is passed through a finish descaling device 12. Successively, after reducing the thickness of the tip of the strip 26 with thickness reducing device 11, finish rolling is executed in the finishing stands 13-15.
