To provide a hot rolling method and an equipment therefor by which yield is improved, high-precise rolled stock is obtained and the rolled stock of an ultra thin sheet is manufactured because the whole cost of equipment is drastically reduced by shortening the rolling line using a high reduction press instead of a roughing mill, operation is executed by using a batch type and the slab which is cut into the length equivalent to one coil and conveying it to the rolling line on which a furnace, press and finishing mill which are continuously (tandem) arranged and the slab is conveyed to the finishing mill in a state where the slab is held at high temp.
The slab 26 of about 50-150 mm in thickness is manufactured with a continuous casting machine 27, next, the slab is cut in a specified length which is coiled as the rolled stock 26' of one coil, next the heat of the slab is retained at or the slab is heated to a prescribed temp. with a heat-retaining and heating furnace while conveying the slab on the rolling line P, next the high reduction is executed to a prescribed thickness with the high reduction press 31 while conveying the slab from the heat-retaining and heating furnace, next, the rolled stock from the high reduction press is continuously rolled to a product thickness with plural finishing mills 32 and one coil is coiled with a coiler 34 while rolling one coil by one coil.
