Abstract:
PURPOSE: To correct a bad shape by detecting shape variations in the width direction of a strip with a strip shape detector and using its signal for adjusting a rolling parameter of a stand in order to reduce the shape variations in the width direction of the strip to zero.
CONSTITUTION: A shape measuring device 7 is used for detecting the shape variations in tension in the width direction of the strip, and the signal from the shape measuring device 7 is fed to a control circuit 8. The signal for adjusting the rolling parameter of one or more stands in a rolling mill 1 is fed with the control circuit 8 in order to reduce the shape variations to nearly zero. Thus, the quantity of the strip rolled in the bad shape is reduced.
