Abstract:
To provide: a roll outer layer material for hot-rolling excellent in surface quality without having structure segregation and excellent in roll characteristics; a composite roll for hot-rolling; and a method for manufacturing the roll outer layer material for hot-rolling.SOLUTION: The roll outer layer material for hot-rolling having a composition including, by mass%, C:1.5-3.0%, Si:0.1-2.0%, Mn:0.1-2.0%, Cr:5.0-15.0%, Mo:2.0-12.0%, V:3.0-10.0%, Nb:0.5-5.0% and the remainder consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities and having the content of Mo and Cr satisfying a predetermined formula has a carbide amount distribution having 20% or less of a change rate S of carbide amount represented by the predetermined formula and satisfies 3.0 or less of a hardness difference represented by the predetermined formula.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
