Abstract:
In a metal casting process molten metal feeds to the casting form via a feed-charge funnel (52) whose first end (42) is attached to the form, and whose second end (43) receives the molten metal discharge spout. The first end and the second end are linked by a drill hole through the stepped funnel wall. In use the funnel is compressible, thereby reducing the distance between the first and second ends.
