Abstract:
PURPOSE: To eliminate the wasteful use of water by purifying the hot water in a bathtub without throwing away the same and again returning the purified water to the bathtub under heating.
CONSTITUTION: A filter cylinder 5 is constituted by vertically stacking three stages of filter medium cartridges 21 within a cylindrical case 20. Each of the filter medium cartridges 21 is constituted by arranging a honeycomb structure 30 on the bottom surface opened in a mesh like state of a bucket-shape receiving case 28 and packing the through-holes of the honeycomb structure 30 with a filter medium 31 having a large specific surface area such as granite porphyry and further packing the space between the honeycomb structure 30 and the inner peripheral surface of the receiving case 28 and the area above the honeycomb structure 30 with the filter medium 31. The packing density of the filter medium 31 in the honeycomb structure 30 is lower than that of the filter medium received in the outside area of the honeycomb structure 30 and a microbial film of aerobic bacteria or anaerobic bacteria are easily formed to the gaps of the filter medium 31.
