This hot water storage type water heater comprises a hot water storage tank 21 storing hot water, the mist generating device 51 jetting the hot water in the hot water storage tank 21 into a spray, a bathtub hot water supply control means 84 controlling the supply of hot water to the bathtub 41, a misting operation control means 85 controlling an operation of the mist generating device 51, a control means 82 giving instructions on operations to the bathtub hot water supply control means 84 and the misting operation control means 85, and a remote controller 81 giving instructions for the supply of hot water to the bathtub 41 and the operation of the mist generating device 51 to the control means 82, and the operation of the mist generating device 51 is started when the supply of hot water to the bathtub 41 is started by the remote controller 81.
