To suppress a cold water sandwich phenomenon which is generated at the switching of a hot water discharge port between two water heaters which are connected to each other in parallel, in a hot water supply system.
The hot water supply system 1 includes the two water heaters 2, 3 which are connected to each other in parallel, and a switching part 5 for switching the hot water discharge port is arranged at a merging part of two pieces of hot water discharge piping 8a, 8b of both water heaters 2, 3. The switching part 5 discharges hot water by mixing warm water from both water heater 2, 3 in the middle of switching the hot water discharge port to the other water heater 3 from one water heater 2. When the switching part 5 switches the hot water discharge port to one from the other, even if low temperature hot water stays in the hot water discharge piping 8b at the side of the other water heater 3 which has not yet performed the supply of hot water until that time, the low temperature hot water is mixed with high temperature hot water generated by one water heater 2 at the switching part 5, and thereby the low temperature hot water is prevented from intruding into a hot water terminal 4. By this arrangement, the generation of the cold water sandwich phenomenon can be suppressed.
