PURPOSE: To simplify the structure of, and reduce the size and manufacturing cost of, a housing apparatus for linear materials that houses linear materials cut to specified lengths and sorted according to their length and so on.

CONSTITUTION: A housing tray 2 for linear materials is partitioned using a plurality of partitioning plates 2d to form a plurality of housing grooves S1 thereon. A placing member 3 is provided in each of the housing grooves S1; one end of the placing member 3 is axially supported, and the other end is capable of swinging upward. Swinging a placing member 3 upward facilitates taking out a linear material. This makes it possible to narrow and deepen the housing grooves S1 in the housing tray 2, which enables the reduction of the width of the linear material housing apparatus 1 and the size of the entire apparatus.
