To provide such a housing container for a honeycomb filter that the treated fluid does not bypass through a space between the honeycomb filter and the housing container, that it is not necessary to cut the peripheral part of the honeycomb filter when the honeycomb filter is taken out from the housing container for regeneration, and that the removing efficiency of impurities can be kept high for a long time.

The housing container 2 for a honeycomb filter is equipped with an upstream side presser rib 3 which covers partially or wholly the periphery of the open face 12 of the passages in the upstream side of each honeycomb filter 1 housed, and equipped with a downstream side presser rib 4 which is in contact with the whole peripheral part of the open face 13 of the passages in the downstream side of each honeycomb filter 1. The housing container 2 is used without filling the space G between each honeycomb filter 1 and the housing container with an adhesive or a packing material.
