Abstract:
To provide a technique which can suppress the damage of a compression ring caused by alcohol fuel products accumulated at a joint end face, in the compression ring which is arranged in an alcohol fuel internal combustion engine.SOLUTION: A compression ring 10 arranged in a ring groove formed at a piston attached to a cylinder of an alcohol fuel internal combustion engine has: a ring main body; and a pair of joint end faces 1, 2 provided at the ring main body and for forming a joint space 7 by opposing each other in a state that the compression ring is attached to the cylinder. The joint space has: a first region 71 whose end face interval being an interval between the pair of joint end faces is relatively narrow; and a second region 72 whose end face interval is relatively wider than the first region, and which is adjacent to the first region and is connected to a peripheral space of the compression ring.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
