To eliminate difficulty of boring work of a supporting surface of a stern flange on a conventional water jet type marine vessel.
This method for mounting a water jet propulsion device on a hull includes: a process to measure an inclination error against a shaft center of a drive shaft on a surface of the stern flange fixed on a stern part of the hull; a process to cut a surface of a flange fixed opposed to the stern flange of a transom short pipe fixed on the stern flange; and a process to fix the transom short pipe on the stern flange in the water jet type vessel connecting a suction port of a conduit to an opening of a hull bottom part, connecting a rear end of this conduit to the transom short pipe fixed on the stern part, extending the drive shaft connected to a drive such as an engine provided in the hull, etc. to the inside of the transom short pipe and fixing an impeller stored in this transom short pipe on the drive shaft.
