To provide a method of changing a system from a hinged type fire door to a sliding type fire door.

In the method of changing the opening and closing system of fire door, between an opening of fire door previously installed as the hinged type fire door and a wall surface adjacent to the opening, a sliding type fire door unit previously constituted so as to have a function of smoke insulation and fire protection by closure of the sliding type fire door is mounted, new function of smoke insulation and fire protection in the sliding door is constructed by sealing a margin where this sliding type fire door unit has contact with the adjacent wall including the opening, and the sliding type fire door unit is equipped with a means of automatic closing, a means of speed control in closing, a means of regular opening and a means of emergency closing.
