Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for cleaning a blanket cylinder efficiently eliminating paper powder and the like adhering to the surface of a blanket cylinder 3 without changing components of an off-set printer.SOLUTION: In an offset printer 1 including a plate cylinder 2, the blanket cylinder 3, a dampening water supply mechanism 4 supplying dampening water to the plate cylinder, and an automatic cleaning mechanism 5 cleaning the surface of the blanket cylinder with a cleaning cloth 17 as necessary, a method for cleaning a blanket cylinder comprises: using an impregnation type cleaning cloth preliminarily impregnated with cleaning fluid, as the cleaning cloth 17; supplying the dampening water into the plate cylinder 2 by the dampening water supply mechanism 4; transferring the dampening water adhering to the plate cylinder 2 onto the blanket cylinder 3; softening the paper powder and the like piling on the surface of the blanket cylinder 3 with the transferred dampening water; and cleaning the blanket cylinder by the automatic cleaning mechanism 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
