Abstract:
Pulp fiber is effectively recovered from used sanitary products containing pulp fiber and polymer absorbent. This method includes: a step for immersing the used sanitary products in ozone water and breaking down the polymer absorbent; a step for discharging the ozone water in which the broken-down polymer absorbent is dissolved, and obtaining the residue of the sanitary products from which the polymer absorbent was removed; and a step for stirring the residue of the sanitary products from which the polymer absorbent was removed in water or an aqueous solution containing an antiseptic substance, whereby the residue of the sanitary products is cleaned, and the residue of the sanitary products is broken down into constituent elements.
