Title:
How to cut sheet-shaped members
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP6363337
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
Provided are: a cutting method that can suppress, to a minimum level, damage to a sheet-shaped member such as a holding seal member or a foamed cushioning material; a mat cut by means of the cutting method; and an exhaust gas purification device using same. The method for cutting a sheet-shaped member, in which a sheet-shaped member having a predetermined width is moved in a direction perpendicular to the widthwise direction of the sheet-shaped member using a conveyer belt and the sheet-shaped member is cut, resulting in a mat having an approximately rectangular shape in a plan view, is characterized by being provided with: a first cutting step wherein, using a first cutting member disposed upstream of the conveyer belt, a first cut section is formed by cutting a portion of the widthwise direction of the sheet-shaped member in a direction perpendicular to the direction of moving of the sheet-shaped member and in a manner such that the first cutting member does not contact both ends in the widthwise direction of the sheet-shaped member; and a second cutting step wherein, after the first cutting step, using a plurality of second cutting members disposed downstream of the first cutting member and disposed along a direction perpendicular to the direction of moving of the sheet-shaped member, the sheet-shaped member is cut in a direction parallel to the direction of moving of the sheet-shaped member, forming a plurality of second cut sections. The method for cutting a sheet-shaped member is further characterized in that, in the widthwise direction of the sheet-shaped member, the first cut sections are cut from the second cut section closest to one end in the widthwise direction of the sheet-shaped member to the second cut section closest to the other end, and thereby a mat having an approximately rectangular shape in a plan view is formed encircled by the first cut and the second cut.
