Abstract:
To provide a method capable of easily and rapidly estimating a vitrinite reflectance Ro of coal regardless of the quality of the coal.SOLUTION: In an estimation method of a vitrinite reflectance Ro, previously, a plurality of test coals having a known vitrinite reflectance Ro is heated to a dry distillation temperature T when coke is manufactured, the total amount of the generated hydrogen gas is measured, and a hydrogen gas generation amount (H) per unit mass of the test coals is determined, and the correlation equation between the hydrogen generation index based on the hydrogen gas generation amount (H) and the vitrinite reflectance Ro is obtained. The hydrogen generation index based on the hydrogen gas generation amount (H) per unit mass of actual coals having an unknown vitrinite reflectance Ro is obtained, and the vitrinite reflectance Ro is estimated from the correlation equation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
