To provide a livestock feed having fibers enough to be substituted for those of meadow grass and the like.
The livestock feed comprises storing mixture of broad-leaf tree barks and food-industry by-product in a sealed condition to ferment the mixture so as to change the broad-leaf tree barks into feed, and has fibers equivalent to those of feed produced by using meadow grass as raw material. The livestock feed can be used as a substitute for coarse feed comprising meadow grass, straw and the like. Thus, the livestock feed is a substitutive feed for imported meadow grass or the like having high cost so as to reduce the cost of the feed itself. The livestock feed also enables effective utilization of the domestic resources because of use of the food-industry by-product as the raw material.
