Abstract:
Brush heads, in particular toothbrush heads comprising both elastomeric cleaning elements and bristle tuft cleaning elements can be produced by injection molding. In order to achieve high design flexibility regarding the arrangement of the elastomeric cleaning elements and regarding the material choice, the elastomeric cleaning elements may be manufactured first by injecting a first plastic material. Then the elastomeric cleaning elements together with the bristle tuft cleaning elements may be over-molded with a second plastic material in order to form the brush head or a part thereof. Thereby, the second plastic material may show a greater Shore hardness than the first plastic material used to manufacture the elastomeric cleaning elements.
