Abstract:

A method for manufacturing a sport ball (10) having a plurality of thermoplastic panels (21) that are joined at seams (22) to form a casing (20). The panels include a further thermoplastic polymer material applied to an interior side (27) of the panels, and both thermoplastic polymer materials being heat-activated to extend across the seams. The ball may further include a bladder (40) within the casing and an intermediate layer (30) located between the casing and the bladder. The thermoplastic polymer material may be heat-activated to bond with the intermediate layer or casing.
