PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an increase in transmission loss of an optical cable with optical fiber ribbons having a structure in which a plurality of marked optical fiber core wires are collectively coated by a coating member.SOLUTION: An optical cable comprises a spacer 31 having a plurality of slots 31a, and a plurality of optical fiber ribbons 10. Each of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons 10 includes a plurality of optical fiber core wires 1 arranged in parallel and a coating member for collectively coating the plurality of optical fiber core wires 1. Each of the plurality of optical fiber core wires 1 includes an optical fiber, a coating, and a marking. In a first portion in a longitudinal direction of each of the plurality of slots 31a, the plurality of optical fiber ribbons 10 are stacked and arranged in a direction orthogonal to parallel and longitudinal directions of the plurality of optical fiber core wires 1. In a second portion in the longitudinal direction of each of the plurality of slots 31a, stacked arrangement is not maintained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
