Abstract:
A toilet system comprises a cistern body (74) with a cistern chamber (74) forming a water reservoir (134); the water reservoir is in fluid communication with a water pump (82), the water pump (82) being arranged to be operable to pump water under pressure out of a water outlet from the cistern body;the system further comprisesa toilet pan body (10) with a water trap (52);a lid (56) for the toilet pan body anda sealing arrangement (222, 58, 224) for providing a sealed chamber (147) below the lid and above a bowl (50) of the toilet pan when the lid is positioned in a closed orientation thereof;and an air pump (102) for providing pressure to the sealed chamber on top of the water trap when the lid is closed for pushing down on the water trap to evacuate the contents of the toilet pan body.
