To positively carry out stable operation when carrying out melting treatment of shredder dust in a shaft type gasification melting furnace by preventing retention of tar contents and preventing dropping of atmospheric temperature in a furnace.

In positions of upper tier tuyeres 3a, 3b blowing air or oxygen into a layer filled with objects to be treated in the furnace, one tier or more are positioned below a stock line and at positions less than 40% of a distance between the stock line and a lower tier tuyere 2 from the stock line, and one tier or more are installed at positions of 40-60% in the same way. 500°C or higher is maintained throughout a whole area in a furnace inner atmosphere of a flared shielding and a shaft part.
