Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of operating a large type diesel engine still in an environmentally-friendly manner against large change in load.SOLUTION: In a method of operating a large type diesel engine in at least one gas mode, a gas is introduced as a fuel into a cylinder 21 and combustion is expelled through an outlet valve 24 successively. A state of large change in load is detected (13) during the operation (10) in the gas mode, and then the large type diesel engine is operated in a temporary mode including: a step of establishing a dwell angle for closing the outlet valve in the gas mode; a step 14 of determining a correction value for the dwell angle; a step 14 of determining a temporary dwell angle by associating the dwell angle with the correction value; and a step 15 of closing the outlet valve at the temporary dwell angle. Further, the present invention provides the large type diesel engine operated according to such a method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
