Abstract:
 This method for recovering gold from sulfide ore comprises: a first step in which a first acidic solution containing chlorine ions, copper ions, and iron ions but not containing bromine ions is brought into contact with a sulfide ore while being supplied with an oxidizing agent to leach out the copper component of the sulfide ore; a second step in which leach reaction solution obtained by the first step is separated into a leach residue and a leachate by solid/liquid separation; a third step in which a second acidic aqueous solution containing chlorine ions, bromine ions, copper ions and iron ions is brought into contact with the leach residue obtained by the second step, while being supplied with an oxidizing agent, thereby leaching out the gold component in the residue; a fourth step in which after adding copper (I) chloride to the gold leachate obtained in the third step, an oxidizing agent is added to adjust the redox potential to at least 520mV to reduce the quantity of monovalent copper ions in the gold leachate; and a fifth step in which the gold in the gold leachate obtained in the fourth step is adsorbed by activated carbon.
