Abstract:
To provide a method which allows for reduction of amount of Ni included in melt in a reduction smelting step when the amount of Ni included in the melt exceeds a predetermined amount upon recovery of noble metal from waste catalyst by dry treatment method.SOLUTION: A PGM recovery method is provided that performs a reduction smelting step and an oxidation smelting step. The method is performed in such a way that the amount of a reduction agent added in the reduction smelting step is adjusted so that the Ni percentage content in extracted electric furnace metal is 10 mass% or less when the value of the mass ratio (Ni/Cu) of Ni and Cu included in an object to be treated and Cu and/or CuO in the reduction smelting step is 0.05 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
