Abstract:
Provided is a scandium recovery method which enables scandium precipitate having excellent solid-liquid separability (filtration properties) to be obtained from a hydrochloric acid solution containing scandium, and which effectively recovers the scandium. The scandium recovery method according to the present invention comprises a step in which alkali is added to a scandium chloride solution and a neutralization process is carried out so as to generate a slurry containing scandium precipitate, and then said precipitate is subject to solid-liquid separation, wherein said method is characterized in that when the neutralization process is carried out, sulfate ions are added to the scandium chloride solution. The sulfate ions are preferably added such that the concentration thereof in the solution after being added is at least 0.5 g/L. The sulfate ions are preferably added before adding the alkali to the scandium chloride solution, or at the same time as adding the alkali.
