Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method capable of effectively recovering titanium oxide having a higher purity for the metal titanium production from ilmenite ore in a simple and low-cost manner.SOLUTION: A recovery method of titanium oxide for the metal titanium production from ilmenite ore comprises at least the following steps:<1> a step of adding a reductant to the ilmenite ore to reduce it; <2> a step of subjecting the obtained reduced product to acid leaching to obtain a leachate containing Ti; and <3> a step of performing air oxidation treatment of the obtained leachate to deposit titanium oxide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
