Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing a sulfur compound from alcohol in which an environmental load is reduced, by reusing an adsorbent which the sulfur compound has been saturatedly adsorbed thereto.SOLUTION: This method for removing a sulfur compound from alcohol is characterized by bringing alcohol containing a sulfur compound and an adsorbent carrying silver into mutual contact to adsorb and remove the sulfur compound in the alcohol, thereafter, raising the temperature of the adsorbent while circulating an eluent and/or a gas, desorbing the sulfur compound adsorbed to the adsorbent to remove the sulfur compound from the adsorbent, and using the adsorbent repeatedly.
