Abstract:
A concatenated signal is transmitted from two or more part signals across an optical network with three network elements (1-3). The part signals are transmitted at two or more different wavelengths. The part signals are assigned to the wavelengths for each section between two of the network elements. A receiver (4) has an optical demultiplexer. A test unit (6) has a threshold value detector. A transmitter (5) has an optical multiplexer.
