To provide a method for treating an aluminum melt capable of stably recovering dross of a specified quality by minimizing carrying out of dross without deteriorating quality of the melt.
The method has a step S1 of transferring the aluminum melt from a melting furnace to a treating vessel, a step S2 of feeding a flux of prescribed components into the melt in the treating vessel, lowering a stirrer provided with rotor blades and a gas blow-off section to immerse the rotor blades right under the melt surface of the melt in the treating vessel, and stirring the melt and the flux by rotating the rotor blades thereby separating the oxide and inclusions coexisting in the melt from the melt and a step S3 of further lowering the stirrer to position the rotor blades and the gas blow-off section near the bottom of the treating vessel and diffusing non-oxidative gas into the melt by rotating the rotor blades while blowing the non-oxidative gas into the melt from the gas blow-off section thereby allowing the oxide and inclusions coexisting in the melt to float onto the melt surface and subjecting the melt to degassing treatment.
