Abstract:
The equalizer has a decoder (1019) and a filter including a set of filter updaters to receive a set of decisions from the decoder. The filter updaters have a multiplier for multiplying one of the decisions of the decoder by a value, and another multiplier for multiplying one of the filter coefficients by a constant. An adder (1007) adds an output of the two multipliers and updates the filter coefficients. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a method of updating filter coefficients (B) a method of selecting a constant.
