Abstract:
The method involves a user requesting a software product offered by a server, and downloading the software product via the network onto a user's terminal. When the software product is run in the user's terminal, a software component is activated which inaugurates a communication with a usage handling server relating to the use of the product. During this communication, the usage handling server is provided with data which it uses to check if the use of the software product for the user is authorised and/or perform billing operations on the accounts of the user and provider.
