Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new virus useful in e.g. vaccine preparation for the prevention and treatment of HSV infections.
CONSTITUTION: This new virus is a recombinant baculovirus containing a gene encoding HSVgD2 and capable of expressing the gene. This virus is obtained by transfecting an insect cell with the DNA of a baculovirus integrated with a gene encoding HSVgD2 followed by culturing the resulting insect cells under such conditions as to be capable of expressing the above gene.
