Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble a hub unit even to a small automobile where the space to install the unit is limited by reducing the axial dimension of the unit.
SOLUTION: A tone wheel 18 is secured to the part of the inner end of a hub 3 projecting from a nut 6. An outer cylinder part 20 that is a part of the tone wheel 18 located around the nut 6 varies the characteristics of axially extending magnetism alternately at equal intervals. An opening in the inner end of an outer ring member 9 is closed by a cover 24, and the detecting part 27 of a passive type sensor 14 supported against the cover 24 is opposed to the outer peripheral surface of the outer cylinder part 20.
