PURPOSE: To both increase rigidity and improve water draining in a cockpit for a small ship having a motor well in the stern and the cockpit in front of said well, by setting a floor plate of the cockpit in a higher position than that of a floor plate of the motor well.

CONSTITUTION: In a small ship having a motor well for an outboard engine 3 in its stern and a cockpit in front of said well beyond a seat space 6, a floor plate 2 in the cockpit is set in a higher position than that of a floor plate 4 of the motor well. Setting to a higher position of the floor plate can increase rigidity of the ship for both longitudrnal and lateral torsions and also can drain water in the cockpit through a drain pipe 12 and the motor well.
