Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recombinant human antibody which specifically binds to human delta-like ligand 4 (hDll4).SOLUTION: Provided is an isolated human antibody or a fragment of a human antibody which specifically binds to hDll4 and block hDll4 binding to its Notch receptor. The human anti-hDll4 antibody or antibody fragment binds hDll4 with an affinity of 500 pM or less, as measured by surface plasmon resonance. Provided is a method for producing the antibody comprising steps of proliferating a host cell containing a nucleic acid encoding an anti-hDll4 antibody or antibody fragment. The invention also provides for the use of the antibody or an antigen-binding fragment of the antibody in the manufacture of a medicament for use to attenuate or inhibit a Dll4-mediated disease or disorder.
