To stably hold a posture so that the body of a holding object person is put in a condition suitable for caring work of excretion or the like by providing a seat back supported with a frame so as to be tiltable and an upper body holding mechanism having an upper body holding body to hold the upper half of the human body.
A pair of side plates 22a are erected on an upper surface of a frame 22 of a human body posture holding device 21, and a seat back 24 is supported between both side plates 22a through a support body 34 so as to be tiltable. An upper body holding mechanism 26 is arranged on the seat back 24, and has upper body holding pads 27 as a pair of openable-closable upper body holding bodies. These upper body holding pads 27 are constituted of air bags. They are constituted so as to hold the upper half of the body of a holding object person by being brought into contact with armpits and a chest of this holding object person in a condition where the holding object person is transferred on the seat back 24. Therefore, the upper body of the holding object person can be reliably held by the upper body holding mechanism 26, and particularly, at caring work such as excretion and a clean wipe, an upper body raised-up posture can be stably held.
