Title:
HUMAN CANCER SPERMARY ANTIGEN
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2004121051
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a polynucleotide used for the immunotherapy of cancer, to provide a polypeptide, to provide a recombinant cell, to provide an immunotherapy, to provide a medicine used for the immunotherapy, and to provide a diagnostic medicine.

A new cancer spermary antigen KU-EM-1 gene cDNA which spermary-specifically expresses in a normal cell and widely expresses in a cancer cell strain is obtained by screening an expression library with an antibody existing in the serum of a cancer patient and then examining the expression pattern of the obtained positive clone. The immunotherapy of cancer comprises purifying KU-EM-1 peptide expressed in a recombinant cell obtained by transducing Escherichia coli with the cDNA expression vector of KU-EM-1 gene, mixing the purified KU-EM-1 peptide with an immature dendritic cell originated from a monocyte obtained from a cancer patient, maturing the immature dendritic cell, and then subcutaneously injecting the mature dendritic cell as a treating agent into a femoral region. A cancer can be diagnosed by detecting the presence of KU-EM-1 peptide antibody in the serum of a patient.
