NEW MATERIAL:An antibody exhibiting a specific binding to Pseudomonas aeruginosa-common antigen OMP-19 having following properties. Properties of OMP-19; Constituent: proteinic substance which antigenicity disappears by treatment with proteinase K. Molecular weight; apparent molecular weight 19000 with 0.2% sodium dodecyl sulfate.12.5% polyacrylamide-gel-electrophoresis under reduced condition, after heat-treatment at 73°C for 10min in the presence of 1% sodium dodecyl sulfate and 5% 2-mercaptoethanol. Characteristics; existing in an outer-membrane fraction of almost all Pseudomonas aeruginosa without depending on a serotype of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
USE: A preventive and remedial agent as well as diagnosticum of Pseudomonas aeruginosa sepsis, which has high therapeutic effect and low side effect, and allows stable and large-scale production of a safe antibody with high titer.
PREPARATION: A human lymphocyte B cell having a potency to produce the said antibody is fused with a mouse myeloma cell, and a hybridoma obtained is propagated to produce the aimed antibody.
