Abstract:
To provide anti-Factor D antibodies which are useful for the therapy of complement-mediated disorders.
The invention provides antibodies comprising the heavy and light chain variable domain sequences of murine antibody 166-32, being capable of inhibiting biological activity associated with Factor D. In the other embodiments, the invention provides compositions comprising the antibody, cell lines and vectors harboring the antibody sequences, and a method of making and using the antibodies and compositions. The invention also provides the use of the antibodies for the preparation of a medicament or composition for the treatment of disorders associated with excessive or uncontrolled complement activation.
