To provide a humidifier easy in operation, saving energy, and reducing running cost, while reducing useless water by automatically controlling a water supply quantity to a vaporizing humidifier in response to a required humidification quantity changing by a seasonal factor and a weather factor, in the humidifier using the vaporizing humidifier.
This humidifier is composed of the vaporizing humidifier 1 arranged in an air flow passage 10, a supply side humidity detector 2 arranged on the air supply port 12 side more than the vaporizing humidifier 1, and a heating/cooling control mechanism 3 connected to and arranged in the supply side humidity detector 2. The heating/cooling control mechanism 3 humidifies air by controlling a heating quantity or a cooling quantity of the air before humidification on the basis of a detecting value of the supply side humidity detector 2. An intake side humidity detector 6 is arranged on the air intake port 11 side more than the vaporizing humidifier 1, and a water supply quantity control mechanism 7 is connected to and arranged in the intake side humidity detector 6, and the water supply quantity control mechanism 7 controls the water supply quantity to the vaporizing humidifier 1 by calculating the required humidification quantity on the basis of a detecting value of the intake side humidity detector 6.
