Detection output of an illuminance sensor 65 is lowered when the user puts off an illuminating lamp in a sleeping room during the humidifying operation in sleeping in night. Here, when it is detected that the detection output of the illuminance sensor 65 becomes lower than a set detection level, a microcomputer 61 controls the output to a display brightness control circuit 73, and a display brightness control circuit 73 controls an electric current value of any of a display unit 68 and display LEDs 74, 75, 76 to be lower than an ordinary electric current value to lower the brightness. Further when it is detected that the detection output of the illuminance sensor 65 becomes lower than the set level, the microcomputer 61 controls the output to a motor control circuit 72, and the motor control circuit 72 performs the control to lower the rotational frequency of a motor 60.
