Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a humidifier capable of continuously obtaining a sufficient humidifying degree by eliminating a necessity of a periodic care such as supplementing of water while suppressing a generation of a hydrogen gas and freely and easily setting the humidifying degree. SOLUTION: The humidifier distributes a gas to be humidified to a cathode side of a solid polymer electrolytic element having electrodes each including a catalytic action at both sides of a solid polymer electrolyte film. The humidifier comprises a hydrogen sensor provided at an outlet thereof to detect the presence of a hydrogen in the gas. Thus, when the sensor detects the hydrogen, a current flowing to the electrolytic element is stopped.
