PURPOSE: To enable the installation of a humidifier on a lower floor, by erecting a grain elevator composed of a screw conveyor, opening an inlet port of the conveyor under the bottom part of a humidifying chamber furnished with a moisturizing apparatus and a rice-grain feeding port and opening a discharging port above the bottom of the humidifying chamber.

CONSTITUTION: For example, a screw conveyor 8 acting as a grain elevator is erected at the lower end of a humidifying chamber 3. The shaft of the conveyor is directly connected with a motor 9 fixed to an outer wall. An inlet port 10 for humidified rice grains is opened at the lower end of the conveyor 8 and an outlet port 11 is opened at the top of the conveyor. A discharging port 12 is opened at a position slightly lower than the outlet port 11 and is connected with a discharging trough 13 extending through the wall of the humidifying chamber 3 and slantly protruding to the outside of the chamber. A level sensor 17 is attached at the level of the outlet port 11. When rice grains humidified to a prescribed water content with a humidifier 20 reach the level of the sensor 17, the motor 15 is energized to rotate a rotary valve 14 and the rice is discharged from the humidifying chamber.
