PURPOSE: To control a humidifying operation effectively by a method wherein the quantity of humidifying water held by a water retaining member is limited to a minimum by use of a heating body covered with a moisture adsorptive and incombustible material and a delay of time of variation of amount of steam generation with respect to the heating capacity is shortened.
CONSTITUTION: A stainless pipe 24 having a heating wire 23 incorporated therein and an auxiliary feed water pipe 26 having a throughhole 25 are provided within a vessel 21 acting as the heating member 31 and the moisture adsorptive and incombustible water retaining member 27 is filled in the space between the pipes 24 and 26, and the vessel 21. The vessel 21 is connected to a feed water tank 33 and the water introduced from the tank into the feed water pipe 26 through a feed water pipe 34 is adsorbed by the water retaining member 27 through the throughhole 25 so that the minimum humidifying water is obtained around the stainless pipe 24. Accordingly, the delay of time of variation is the amount of steam generation with respect to the variation in the amount of electricity supplied to the heating wire 23 can be shortened and the water contained in the water retaining member 27 can be heated and evaporated to be discharged outside the vessel 21 through a discharge port 21A.
