To provide a humidifying element which is prevented from the occurrence of swelling even after a feed of water, does not need a reinforcing material, has an excellent productivity, hardly undergoes bursting of an element due to clogging and freezing, and has also an excellent long period stability.
Steam permeable and water impermeable moisture permeable films are formed on both surfaces of a water holding layer for humidification capable of absorbing and holding water for humidification. The humidifying element is formed of a humidifying sheet approximately in a rectangular shape and provided on the first short side S1 side with a through-hole H for a feed and a through-hole H' for discharge and has a partition part 8 situated at a water holding layer for humidification to form a flow passage through which water for humidification flows to the through-hole H' for discharge after it flows along a first long side L1, a second short side S2, and a second long side L2. A flow passage width (Pb) consisting of a second short side S2 and a partition part 6 is narrower than a flow passage width (Pa) consisting of the first long side L1 and the partition part 6 and wider than a flow passage width (Pc) consisting of the second long side L2 and the partition part 6.
